No, this is not a good idea. You can use an old credit card, but bent, and after a while. If you can take the wax and a lot of time, you should use a wax comb. They are not expensive at all. If you want to completely remove all the wax, you should have a load Surf Wax Remover.

Go to store motor vehicle parts and go to "section of the body." Get AA "Bondo Spreader. Available in different sizes and stiffness. You can even those which are bent to uneven surfaces. Most are small enough to fit in the palm and the best wax scraper can be achieved. You did not damage a knife (angle) points and the surface of the board.
And when you get home you use for some Bondo in all holes with cancer his car cuz they never sat down to wash the salt out of it when I get back from the beach. :-)))
